Supplementation

If you have already read the information on nutrition, you know your diet will consist of a combination of carbohydrates, protein and fat. For me it is important that I get most of my nutrients from real whole food such as lean chicken, tuna, wholemeal rice, fruits and vegetables. However, sometimes it’s not always possible for me to get the recommended levels, so I do take a few supplements, nothing drastic though!

EFAs

Essential Fatty Acids

Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)

It is important for your health and general well being that you consume foods containing omega 3 and 6, which are essential fatty acids (EFAs). You’re body can’t make these EFAs so you need to make sure you are consuming enough from your diet. Omega 3 and 6 can be found in foods such as eggs, leafy green vegetables and seeds.

One of the most effective ways to ensure that you are consuming the recommended amount of EFAs is to take a high-quality, organic oil supplement such as Udo’s Choice. You can find out more about EFAs on the Udo’s Choice website.

Protein To Keep Me Fuller for Longer!

I also take a protein supplement, mainly for convenience. Typically a person working out with weights should consume 1gm of protein per 1lb of lean mass. However I take 1gm of protein per 1lb of body weight, there are no hard and fast rules, but I do find better results in terms of weight loss and keeping fuller for longer when my protein intake is like this.

Protein Supplement

Protein Supplement

I use Maxitone Definity. Maxitone offer a range of weight loss and protein supplement products, in fact the range is quite large and you may have difficulty choosing! I would recommend that if you have more than 14lbs (1stone) to lose then try their weight loss range, Sculptress. Sculptress contains extra ingredients such as green tea and CLA which may aid weight loss. If like me you are on the last 10lbs then I would use the protein supplement Definity. Both ranges have a great selection of flavours, and Banana is my favourite, yum!

Plain Old Multivitamin

I also take a general multivitamin, nothing fancy, just a plain old multivitamin with added iron.

No Magic Pills Here

I don’t take any additional fat burners or magic pills. Hard work, dedication and commitment will get you to your goals, no magic pills required. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just trying to sell you something!
