Diet Time Line

As you know, I’ve been on some kind of diet, and yo yo dieted most of my adult life. Here is my “diet” time line!

15 years old, I was 11stone, overweight and miserable and so I started my first diet. I got my weight to 9stone 4lbs, maintained at this weight for about two years.

17 years old, weight was creeping back on, so back on a diet for me. My weight went up to about 10stone, which meant I had to start buying bigger sizes, 14/16′s. By the time I fell pregnant with Robyn, I was just over 10stone, I was 19. I put on weight throughout my pregnancy and was back to 11 stone after having Robyn (now 20).

I fell pregnant with Holly when Robyn was 9 months old, and I hadn’t shifted any weight after unsuccesfully yo yo dieting. After Holly was born I weighed a whopping 13 stone. 3 months after she was born I was back on a diet (just turned 22). This time Scottish Slimmers. It took me about a year to lose the weight and get down to 9 stone.

So now I’m 23 and for 8 years have been dieting. I managed to keep the weight off for about a year (24), and then once again, clothes became tighter and then bigger sizes would be bought again. I spent a lot of time yo yo dieting, so weight would fluntuate between 9 and half stone to 10 and a half stone.

By the time I was 25 it had gone back to 11 stone, right back to where I was at age 15. So January 2006 and I was on a serious diet again. I used the principles I had learned at Scottish Slimmers, cut out the junk and got walking most lunchtimes. By April I was under 10stone, and by my 27th birthday I was back to 9 stone.

Between my 27th and 29th birthday, I definitely had more control over junk food and emotional eating, however the weight did start to creep back on, not much, but I started to recognise what was happening. October 2009 I was eating really healthy (in my quest to get back to 9 stone, I was 9st 10lbs). I was also working out like a demon. However, although I was eating healthy I was OVEREATING, hence I was putting on weight. I was really disheartened, as it wasn’t unitl I’d let me weight get back up to near 11 stone that I was prepared to cut the junkfood and really assess the food I was puting in my mouth.

My 30th birthday was also fast approaching and I was determined that I would be looking my best for my 30th. I did a vast amount of research on losing weight/fat loss, and embarked on a calorie controlled diet. I worked out how many calories I would need to be consuming for fat loss, downloaded a free app for my iphone that in under 5 minutes I could plan what I was eating for the day, and know exactly how many calories I would be consuming, and as they say the rest is history.
